Sierra Patriots is a platform for patriotism and development beyond politics,tribe and religion in order to promote non-violence, search for a common ground, human rights, justice for all, democracy, good governance and sustainable human development.

Our Roots

The organization has its roots from movement to unite people (MUP),which aided the pre-post negotiations in the armed conflict by facilitating the implementation of the Lome peace accord in Sierra Leone in rebel held territories under the leadership of late President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) government. Other activities includes: advocating the release of child combatants, enhancing the safety of civilians in rebel held territories, conducting meetings with stakeholders such as  United Nations observer mission in Sierra Leone, the government, Ecomog, NGOs, Parliament and warring factions, mapping the gateway to peace and disarmament process in  Sierra Leone.

The Birth of Sierra Patriots

In an MOU adopted by members of Movement to unite People (MUP), with emerging issues arising, it was unanimously agreed to enter into a new phase as “Sierra Patriots “with an  aim  to address, tribal harmony, inclusivity, transparency, accountability, justice for  all, education, agriculture, democracy, good governance and sustainable human development.

Our resource capacity involves trained, creative, qualified and experienced academics from diverse backgrounds.

Sierra Patriots is built around a model of “one family” “one nation” for peace, progress and development in Sierra Leone.
